Concept, Origin and Principles

The core values of the Global Leadership Foundation are discretion,  trust, integrity, neutrality and independence.

The organisation was founded in 2004 by FW de Klerk. It is a not-for-profit foundation registered in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland, and is not aligned with any government and any private, corporate or commercial interest.   

The Foundation is based on the understanding that political leaders are often isolated when facing difficult decisions and would benefit from being able to draw on the experience and wisdom of former leaders. 

In addition to neutrality and independence, GLF’s approach is based on trust, integrity and above all, confidentiality. The Foundation seeks no publicity but would rather the leader takes credit for ant decision or initiative discussed.
